Alvin Denson “Smiley” Stacy December 25, 1935 January 13, 2008 Alvin Denson “Smiley” Stacy, 72, of Hatchbend, Florida passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008, at Suwannee Health Care Center in Live Oak, FL following a lengthy illness. The Deel, Virginia native moved to Hatchbend, FL in 1989 from Oakwood, Virginia. He was a retired janitor for the Garden Creek High School in Garden Creek, Virginia. “Smiley” enjoyed golfing and hunting. He was predeceased by four brothers, Bascom Stacy, Burl Stacy, Ernest Stacy and Ira Stacy. Survivors include five brothers, Leonard & Myrtle Stacy, Hatchbend, FL; McKinley & Shelbie Jean Stacy, Abingdon, VA; Virgil Stacy, Hatchbend, FL; Larry & Phyllis Stacy, Bandy, VA; Garland & Earla Stacy, Abingdon, VA; one sister, Linda & Remus Keen, Moshem, TN; nineteen nieces & nephews and twenty six great-nieces & nephews. Funeral services were held, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the Hatchbend Apostolic Church with Rev. Steve Boyd officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Branford, FL. Harris Funeral Home, Inc., 932 N. Ohio Ave., Live Oak was in charge of all arrangements.
