Annette Harrell Martinez

Annette Harrell Martinez, age 75, formally of Live Oak, Florida passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at her home in Newnan, GA. She was born in Live Oak where she lived most of her life before moving to Douglas, GA and then Newnan, GA three years ago. Annette was a single mother who after tragically losing her husband in 1966, raised two children working days and nights as a nurse to make sure her family had everything they needed. She then was faced with the death of her daughter at an early age that no parent should ever have to go through. Annette was a wonderful, loving and caring mother and grandmother whose most treasured moments were spending time with her family. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak. She was predeceased by her husband, Staff Sgt. David Martinez and her daughter, Luanne Martinez Baker. She is survived by one son, Mike (Shannon) Martinez of Douglas, GA; one brother, Thomas Harrell, Sharpsburg, GA; one sister, Phyllis Nichols, Pelzer, SC; three grandchildren, Brett and Maddie Martinez and Dustin Baker. Visitation was held prior to the services from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the funeral home. Graveside services were held, 11:00 AM, Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Live Oak Cemetery.
