Bernice Evans

Bernice Evans, age 90, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 in Shands Lake Shore in Lake City, Florida. She was born in Day, Florida moving to Live Oak in 1959. Bernice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was known as “Mamaw”. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of Gleaner’s Sunday school class. Prior to the death of her husband, she loved going fishing with him whenever the opportunity presented itself. She also enjoyed needlework and sharing her lovely work with her friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harwood Julian Evans, Sr.
She is survived by one son, Harwood J. “Buddy” (Joyce) Evans, Jr., Palatka, FL; four daughters, Linda (Rudolph) Dees, Middleburg, FL; Nell (Dale) McCullers, Waycross, GA; Illa Frances “Frankie” (Frank) Allen, Live Oak, FL; Elaine Crapps, Live Oak, FL; one sister, Eunice (Joe) Dees, Havelock, NC; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.
Graveside Services were held Saturday, January 28th, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Day Cemetery, Day, FL with the Rev. Steve Sweitzer, officiating.
