Brilla Pierce

Brilla H. Pierce September 5, 1914 June 25, 2012 Brilla H. Pierce, age 97 of Live Oak, FL passed away Monday afternoon, June 25, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park, FL. The Wellborn, FL, native had lived and worked for many years in Largo, FL and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Largo. After retiring and upon returning to Live Oak she moved her membership to Beulah Baptist Church and later joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Brilla loved gardening and spent many hours doing so when not pursuing her other passion of crocheting. Above all she loved her family, helping to raise many nieces and nephews. She is survived by three of her sister’s children, Joe (Carmen) Crews, Chipley, FL; Vicky (Smitty) Smith, Clearwater, FL and Martha (Luther) Buis, Palm Harbor, FL; many nieces and nephews. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church. Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Friday, June 29, 2012 in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Wally Weaver officiating. Internment was held in the Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 5314 98th Terrace, Live Oak, FL 32060.
