Charles Sweat

Charles Monroe Sweat, Sr., age 85, of Live Oak, FL, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL following a brief illness.  He was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak, FL and a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.  He worked as an educator for the Suwannee County School System for many years and was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, cooking and the FSU Seminoles.  His most treasured moments were the times he spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sweat, Live Oak, FL; five sons, Charles Monroe Sweat, Jr., Las Vegas, NV; Terry Jay (Kevin Sohr) Sweat, Pace, FL; Christopher Buford Sweat, Palm Harbor, FL; Donald (Alison) Crutchfield, Live Oak, FL and David (Tracy) Crutchfield, Live Oak, FL; three nieces, Cathy Howell, Lynda Mann and Susan Crump; ten grandchildren, Ryan Sweat, Michael Sweat, Kevin Sweat, Jack Sweat, Logan Sweat, Junior Sohr-Sweat, Alani Sohr-Sweat, Holly Kinsey, Abigail Crutchfield, Mary Caroline Crutchfield and one great grandchild, Madison Sweat.

Funeral services will be held, 2:00 PM, Friday, December 1, 2023 in the Westwood Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Deas officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church.
