Clara Higginbotham

Clara Higginbotham, age 81, of McAlpin, FL passed away Saturday morning, August 30, 2014 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. The LaGrange, GA native moved to McAlpin in 1969 from Jacksonville, FL. She was a homemaker and supporter of the Battered Women Organization, was a donor to the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch and a member of the McAlpin Advent Christian Church. Clara was the last survivor of fourteen children. She is survived by her husband, L.C. Higginbotham, McAlpin, FL; two sons, Danny Higginbotham and Ray (Patricia) Higginbotham, both of McAlpin, FL; one daughter, Laura Haynes, McAlpin, FL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held, Thursday, September 4th from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM, in the McAlpin Advent Christian Church with Rev. David Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
