Curtis "Bobby" Harrell

Bobby Harrell, a lifelong resident of Suwannee County, Florida. Passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, at the age of 87. The Day of September 2nd, 1939, Bobby was born to Curtis & Lynette Harrell in Falmouth, FL. Bobby was raised on his family’s farm, land that had been passed down through his family since the 1840’s. It was more than just a farm- it was generations of home, work, life, and countless memories.

He was a graduate of Suwannee High School in 1957, where he excelled in athletics participating in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He continued his education and athletics at Abilene Christian College and Florida State University. He graduated in 1961 with his Bachelor of Arts Degree. He also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Naval Reserve.

On July 19, 1969, Bobby married his beloved wife Alice Florence Bird, beginning a beautiful life, devoted to Christ. It was a life filled with love, laughter, cherished memories, and countless moments that became a foundation of a lifetime shared side by side. Together they built a loving home and a beautiful family, walking through life hand in hand and creating memories that will be treasured by their family for generations to come. Bobby’s love for Alice was steadfast and enduring, as she remained the love of his life and partner through all of life’s season.

Bobby was a devoted father and a proud papa who cherished his family above all else. He was blessed with two sons with Alice Harrell: Curtis & Matthew Harrell (Sabrina) and two beautiful daughters: Amy Jo (her 2 children), Sarah Beth (her 4 children). He loved each of his children deeply and took great pride in the families they built. His grandchildren- Annakin, Abigail (Brenden), Ashton, Greyson, Adin (Taylor), Liviya, Ronin, Ethan, Audrey, Waylon, Carmen, Trent, Hayden, Brianna, and 3 great grandchildren: Hudson, Maisie and Ezra were among his greatest joy. His love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was a lasting part of who he was, and that love will remain with them always.

Bobby’s faith was the foundation of his Life. He believed deeply in reconciliation with God, forgiveness and loving others. He was a lifelong member of the Churches of Christ, he faithfully served as the song leader and Sunday School teacher for more than 70 years. His Church was not simply a place he attended- it was a family he loved and served with his whole heart. Through his service he became a cherished part of the church family.

Those who knew Bobby will remember him not only for the roles he held, but for the person that he was -– a devoted husband, loving father, proud papa, family man, faithful Christian, a loyal friend, excellent horseman, the best cattlemen, and of course a hardcore Seminole fan. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy that will continue through his children, grandchildren, great– grandchildren, extended family, friends, and generations to come.

Bobby lived a long and full life rooted in family, faith, and service, and love. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he gave, and the memories created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

May he rest in peace in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded forever by God’s love, the love of his family. His legacy will live on through all of those who knew and loved him

Funeral services will be held, 11:00 AM, Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Mt. Olive Church of Christ with visitation one hour prior to the services from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
