Henry “Damon” Nolan February 10, 1923 October 26, 2008 Henry “Damon” Nolan, 85 of McAlpin, Florida passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Suwannee Valley Care Center, Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. The Sumika, Florida native lived most of his life in McAlpin, FL. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired correctional counselor for the State of Florida. Damon had a special way with animals, he loved gardening and taking care of his pecan trees. He had a very close family and enjoyed being together with them. Before he became sick his entire family would eat Sunday dinners at his house. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his wife, Caroline Nolan, McAlpin, FL; three sons, Stephen Nolan, McAlpin, FL; Bruce Nolan, McAlpin, FL; Michael (Rhonda) Nolan, McAlpin, FL; three daughters, Deborah Fulton, McAlpin, FL; Charlotte (Phillip) Colon, Boca Raton, FL; Laura (Chris) Landen, McAlpin, FL; three sisters, Edna Mae Liddle, Melbourne, FL; Marjorie Harris, Live Oak, FL; Betty (Don) Willis, Melbourne, FL; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Wednesday, Oct. 29th in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. William Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Leona Cemetery in McAlpin, FL.
