Dana Louire Chandler, age 74, of Live Oak, Florida, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at her home, Sunday, September11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lake City, Florida, to her parents Mr. and Mrs. Hank Hodek.
Dana moved around a lot as her father Hank was in the Air Force. She attended Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated in 1965. Then went onto college at the University of Northern Colorado at Greely. After graduating from college she worked as a social worker for The Florida Department of Children and Families. She had a heart for serving Jesus and others.
Dana met Daniel G. Chandler from Live Oak, Florida and they got married on March 24, 1973 in Live Oak at the First Presbyterian Church, then located on Ohio Avenue. They had two children and have been married for 49 years.
Danna was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was an active member of Mount Zion Christian Church where she played the piano. She lived her life as example of God’s love and showed everyone she met, His love. She was a loving and kind wife, mother, sister and friend.
Dana loved her family, her church family and her friends, but foremost of all, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Those left to miss her include her husband of 49 years, Dan Chandler; one daughter, Tami (Doug) Cheesman and one son, Timothy Chandler; her sister, Glaythia (Tommye) Collins and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A home going celebration will be held 1:00 PM at the Mount Zion Christian Church Saturday, October 22, 2022. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Center in Dana’s name.
