David Allen Boyce

David Allen Boyce, age 84, of Live Oak, FL passed away peacefully, Friday, October 24, 2025, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. He was born in Detroit, Michigan moving to Live Oak, FL in 2016 from Marion, NC. He had many accomplishments including 32 years at General Telephone Company.  He was a Marine and proud of it.  He was a captain for the volunteer Fire Department in Sarasota, as a firefighter. Correction Officer for Sarasota and Marion Corrections, Marion, N.C., and drove a school bus for McDowell County School for 17 years.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion, where he served as a deacon, sang in the choir, rang hand bells and went on Mission trips to Belize.  He was a frequent Pheresis Donor.

David enjoyed sky diving, performed in the Sarasota Sailor Circus, coached Little League, Florida State Director for Gold Wing Touring Association.  An avid watcher of NASCAR loved Mickey Mouse and was a Tampa Bay Bucs fan. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Gorden and Doris Boyce, a stepson, Kelly Dale Rowe. 

He leaves behind his wife, Dee, Live Oak, FL; a son, David A. Boyce, II, Sarasota, FL; one daughter, Tammy Boyce, Sarasota, FL; Grandchildren, Michael, Katarina (Ryan), Justin, (Jordyn), Taylor (Calvin), Austin (Rylee), and Emma (Zak). Great grandchildren, McKinley, Bella, Dax, Elaina, Issac, Rowyn and Ruthie.

Memorial services will be held, 10:00 AM, Friday, January 23, 2026, in the Westwood Baptist Church with Dr. Ben Bush officiating.
