David Orville Layton, Jr.
June 11, 1942 — November 12, 2021
David Orville Layton, Jr., age 79, of Live Oak, FL, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at Shands U.F. in Gainesville, FL. He was born in Live Oak, FL living in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area until 1979 and moving back to his home town. He worked for the Florida Department of Agriculture, Division of Law Enforcement in North Florida before retiring and was a member of The Orchard Baptist Church. David was a gun and coin collector, loved NASCAR, horses and being outdoors. His most treasured moments were, spending time with his grand and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Layton, one son, Gerald (Kelly) Layton; two daughters, Pam (Virgil) Wainwright and Sandra (Ryan) Brannan; one sister, Judy (Harvey) Smith, a half-sister, Kaye Kimble; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Memorial services will be held, 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at The Orchard Baptist Church in Live Oak.
