David Harold Matier

David Harold Matier, age 74 passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at Shands of UF in Gainesville, Florida. He was born in Watertown, NY, moving to Live Oak, Florida twenty-six years ago from Idaho. He was a pastor, loved learning from books, car racing and associated Guardian Ad Litem. He was a member of the Rocky Sink Baptist Church in Live Oak, Florida.

He is survived by one son, Michael Matier (Alexa), Sand Point, ID, two daughters, Kathryn Bower (Bob), St. Augustine, FL, and Karen Dafforn (Jason), Columbia City, IN, two brothers, Kevin Matier, Anchorage, AK and Brian Matier, Clyde, NC, one sister, Jacquelyn Turner, Lady Lake, FL, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Rocky Sink Baptist Church, Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 3:00 PM with Rev. Bruce Wehner officiating. Private burial service will be held at the Shiloh Cemetery in Fruitland Park, Florida.
