Dorothy Marie Cork Hurley, age 91, of Live Oak, FL, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Doddridge County, West Virginia on October 4, 1928 to Winter Jemmison Cork and Lora Catherine Chipps Cork. She lived most of her life in Live Oak, FL where she was a contract mail carrier for the U.S. postal service and a homemaker. Dorothy was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She loved cooking and baking, but her most treasured moments were spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Winter and Lora Cork; husband, John Hurley and a daughter, Juanita Henry.
She is survived by four daughters, Rosita Hurley, Live Oak; Judy (Noah) Burns, Marianna, FL; Carol (Randall) Jenkins, Live Oak; and Son-in-law, Roger Henry, Jasper, FL; seventeen grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren; a special niece who has always been there with unconditional love and prayers, Linda Rae Carter LeSage; several other special grandchildren and great grandchildren. All of which were greatly loved and cared for by our mom. Her last words to us, was for us all to behave.
Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 1, 2020 in the First Assembly of God with Brother Michael Townsend and Brother Edgar Wood officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the services, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church.
