Dorothy Theresa Hasbrouck Nott, passed away at Haven Hospice on Saturday, January 21, 2017, after a brief illness. She was 89 years old. Dorothy was born on June 1, 1927, in New York City. She was the daughter of David Marks Hasbrouck and Elizabeth Leyble. She attended school in Tenafly, NJ, and graduated from Clearwater High School in Clearwater, FL, in 1945. She began working at the First National Bank of Clearwater where she met her husband, A.P. “Buddy” Nott, and advanced to head bookkeeper by 1947. In 1949 the family moved to Live Oak where Dorothy was involved in the local PTA serving as president, Junior Women’s Club and civil defense. She was also a Girl Scout troop leader. When her children were older, Dorothy returned to school and graduated from North Florida Junior College with a Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She worked for many years at Meridian Behavioral Healthcare in Lake City. Dorothy loved to dance. While living in New Jersey she took lessons from Arthur Murray Dance Studio in New York City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Live Oak. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Grafton) Purdy, Live Oak; Marianne (Dave) Fullarton, Summerfield, FL; and a son, Robert (Tammy) Nott of Crystal River; one brother, David (Linn Masterson) Hasbrouck, Jr., of St. Petersburg, FL and his family; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as her beloved cat, Miss Kitty. Funeral services were  held, 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Hay officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 10: 00 to 11:00. Intermentl followed in the Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Live Oak or the Purring Station, 18942 54th Terrace, Live Oak, FL 32060 (a cat rescue charitable organization).
