Dottie Dennard

Dottie Dennard, age 71, of Wellborn, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Friday, September 18, 2026, at her home following a fall on Monday, September 14th. She was born in Gainesville, Florida living most of her life in Lake City, Florida where her parents owned and operated the bowling alley.  She loved the sport and her time in Lake City. Her family moved to Old Town in Dixie County where she finished school before going on to further her education at Florida State University in college art and accounting. She loved her family and the time they spent together, holidays, dinners, watching Nic bowl, visiting with Holly, and phone calls with Daisy.  Dottie was a fantastic mother to all her children who were born eight years apart, and all in the month of October.  She will be remembered for the love she gave her family, the memories she created, and the lasting impact she had on the lives of those who knew and loved her.  Though she is deeply missed, her love and memory will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

She is survived by two sons, Ray Tillis and Nicholai Tyre Barbee who she adopted and raised as a son; two daughters, Holly Oliver and Nikki Dennard; three sisters, Daisy (Wayne) Ketter, Cathy and J.J.; five grandchildren.

As per her wishes, finalization will be by cremation.
