Dr. Harold Preston, Jr. November 13, 1919 November 21, 2010 Dr. Harold Preston, Jr. age 91, of Live Oak, Florida passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 in Shands at Live Oak following a lengthy illness. The native of Melrose, Florida moved to Live Oak in 1946. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy and was a Commander in the Naval Reserve for twenty years. He joined the Live Oak Rotary Club in 1946, was a Paul Harris Fellow and past president of Rotary as well. He was a member and past deacon of First Baptist Church of Live Oak and in his spare time, enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Preston, Live Oak, FL; one son Gary (Anne) Preston, Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Renee Poole(Ronnie)Live Oak, FL; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services, Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Herrington officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
