Edna W. Carter October 17, 1917 * March 14, 2013 Edna W. Carter, age 95 of Live Oak, FL went to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 14, 2013. The Perry, FL native lived most of her life in Live Oak. She dedicated her life to being a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who loved her family with all her heart. During WWII she was an inspector of airplanes for the Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, VA. She retired from Tropicana Glass Plant in Bradenton, FL. Edna loved to travel and had visited most of the United States. She loved to drink coffee and enjoyed sewing, gardening and fishing and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel L. Carter, Sr. She is survived by three sons, Sam & Kathy Carter, Live Oak; Fred & Jean Carter, Youngsville, NC; David & Karin Carter, Lutherville, Timonium, MD; one daughter, Mary Ellen & Reggie Hodge, Sebastian, FL; one brother, Charles “C.B.” Willis, Valdosta, GA; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Visitation was held Friday, March 15th from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2013 in the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. David McKeithen and Rev. Robert Carter officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 5203 CR 795, Live Oak, FL 32060.
