Edna Murphy Laffoon

Edna Murphy Laffoon, age 86, of Live Oak, FL passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center / Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL following a lengthy illness.  She was born in Panama City, FL living her life in Live Oak, FL where she worked as a legal secretary for the State of Florida and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak. Edna loved her church and doing church activities.  She also loved to travel and spend time with “her girls”.  Her family was very special to her and she loved hosting family gatherings.

She was predeceased by her parents, Avery and Gladys Murphy; two brothers, Ray Murphy and her twin brother, Edward Murphy; a son, Jeffery Laffoon and a sister, Norma Jean Murphy.

She is survived by one son, Leslie (Belinda) Laffoon, Live Oak, FL; a daughter in law, Anne Laffoon, Atlanta, GA; one brother, Robert (Patricia) Murphy, Live Oak, FL; one sister, Wilma Merritt, Merritt Island, FL; three grandchildren, Amber Laffoon, Kelsey Laffoon and Marissa Laffoon.

Funeral services were held, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Switzer officiating.  Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.
