Eleanor Anderson Preston, age 93, of Live Oak, FL passed away Saturday, March 3, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park. She was born in Greenville, GA moving to Live Oak in 1946 from Atlanta, GA. After graduating from a business college in LaGrange, GA, she was associated with an interior decorating firm in Atlanta where furniture and material was just simply out of this world. She worked with the American Red Cross during WWII. She was a member and Sunday school teacher of the First Baptist Church. Eleanor was Past President of the Junior Woman’s Club and in that capacity worked with many heads of the different organizations. A member of the Live Oak Garden Club and Past Secretary-Treasurer of the Woman’s Club. She was a member of the Suwannee Concert Association and has worked in many drives such as Red Cross and March of Dimes. She also assisted her late husband in his work whenever she was needed.
She was predeceased by her husband who was a dentist for fifty-six years in Live Oak , Dr. Harold Preston and a sister, Katheryn Harris.
She is survived by one son, Gary (Anne) Preston, Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Renee (Ronnie) Poole, Live Oak, FL; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
Visitation was held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM one hour prior to the services at the church.
Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Herrington and Rev. Steve Sweitzer officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
