Eunice S. Wood

Eunice S. Wood July 4, 1914 * December 16, 2012 Eunice S. Wood, age 98 of Live Oak, FL passed away Sunday December 16, 2012 at Haven Hospice in, Lake City, FL. The native of Mayo, FL moved to Live Oak in 1940 from Dunnellon, FL. Eunice retired from the Suwannee County School system having worked in the maintenance department for the Superintendent’s office. Her family was very important to her. She will be deeply missed by them especially on their birthdays because the message she always wrote in their cards was that “God loved them and so did she”. Eunice was a dedicated member of the Marybelle Baptist Church which she loved very much. She was predeceased by her parents John and Rosa O’Steen Sparrow; husbands, Robert Corbin and James Aaron Wood; two daughters, Flossie Corbin and Gloria Wood Little; one grandson, Jerry “Ken” Lee, Jr.; two sisters and seven brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Bobbie (Willis) Garrett, Ocala, FL; Gladys (Jerry) Lee, Live Oak; two grandsons, Daniel Holland, Bellview, FL; Tim Lee, Jacksonville, FL; two granddaughters, Lorraine (Dave) Owen, Lake Weir, FL; Wanda Bradley, Ocala, FL; eight Great Grandchildren and eight Great-Great Grandchildren. Visitation was held Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services were held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in the Marybelle Baptist Church with Rev. Daryl Curls & Rev. Matthew Barker officiating.Internment followed in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Marybelle Baptist Church Building Fund, 15160 76th St., Live Oak, FL 32060.
