Evelyn Porter

Evelyn Mae Porter , age 84, of McAlpin, FL, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Haven Hospice, in Lake City, Florida. She was born in Providence, RI living in Broward County before moving to Live Oak in 2002.  She retired from the Broward County School Board and was Catholic by faith. Evelyn loved to go fishing, working crossword puzzles, watching game shows on TV, but her most proud moments were watching the grandkids sporting events and cheering them on.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Florence Normandin, her husband, Ernest Porter and her daughter, Sherrie Daly.

She is survived by two daughter, Sandra Koehn (Scott) and Judy Gonzalez (Charles) both of McAlpin, Florida; five grandchildren, Scott Koehn, II (Keri), Danielle Gaskins (Brandon)Michael Gonzalez, Gabrielle Gonzalez, and Sabrina Gonzalez and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held, 12:00 PM, Thursday, September 16, 2022 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Danielle Gaskins officiating.  Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the chapel.
