Frances Fletcher Edwards

Frances Fletcher Edwards, age 87, passed away January 2, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in McAlpin, FL to the late Dewey and Ruth Fletcher. She attended school in McAlpin and Live Oak, Fl. where she graduated from Suwannee High School in 1947. Frances worked for the First Commercial Bank in Live Oak for 25 years before moving to Tallahassee in 1973 where she retired from the Florida Department of Management Services in 1995. In 2012, she moved to Elmcroft of Timberlin Parc Assisted Living Facility in Jacksonville. Frances enjoyed many things in her life including cheerleading for the Suwannee Bulldogs, raising her children, caring for ailing family members and friends, flower gardening, sewing and cooking goodies. Her greatest joy though was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She relished the time spent spoiling her grandchildren and nothing brightened her day more than a visit at Elmcroft from her great grandkids.Frances is survived by her children, Danny Edwards (Brenda), Bart Edwards (Becky) and Emma Dugger; grandchildren Josh Edwards (Jen), Laura Dro (Rob), Wes Edwards (Sarah), Tyler Edwards, Drew Edwards and Sarah Holland (Grayson); great-grandchildren Palmer, Caroline and Leighton Edwards, and Hartley and Crews Dro; brother Lehman Fletcher; and a special granddog, Johnson Dugger. She was predeceased by her husband Tommy Edwards; sister Margaret Allen and brother Clyde Fletcher.The family wishes to thank the staff at Elmcroft of Timberlin Parc for the loving and compassionate care she received for over five years and Community Hospice for their support. A Memorial service was held in Jacksonville on Monday, January 8 at Deermeadows Baptist Church, 9780 Baymeadows Rd with family visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am and services immediately following. Viewing and visitation was held in Live Oak, Fl on Tuesday, January 9 from 10:30 am – 11:00 am at Harris Funeral Home, 932 N. Ohio Ave, with graveside services immediately following at Live Oak Cemetery.
