Fred H. Criss

Fred H. Criss, age 87, of Live Oak, FL passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Suwannee Healthcare & Rehabilitative Center in Live Oak. Fred moved to Live Oak in 1996 from Nashville, GA. He worked in quality control for boat builders for many years and was a member of the Live Oak Church of God. Fred enjoyed fishing and building bird houses. His most treasured moments were spent praying for others. He was the Chaplin at Suwannee Healthcare, the jail Chaplin and the prison and detention Chaplin. Fred will also be missed at the round a bout holding his sign each morning, waving and praying for everyone as they passed by.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Criss, Live Oak; four sons, Thomas Criss and Ted Criss both of Tampa, FL; John David Cope, Porter, TX and Thomas Dale Cope, Inverness, FL; two daughters, Janice Maestri, and Judith Squires both of Live Oak; one sister, Peggy (Frank) Kurtz, North Benton, Ohio; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held 10:10 AM, Thursday, October 10, 2019 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Mr. Wes Tanksley officiating.
