Freddy Maxie Williams Sr. , also lovingly known to many as Toby Bennett, of Mayo, FL, born March 6, 1944, passed away peacefully with family by his side, on August 19, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving a profound legacy of love and cherished memories. Freddy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sylvia Bruce; his only son, Freddy Maxie Williams Jr.; his mother, Jessie Music; father, William Williams; and special parents, Mattie Gamble and John Bennett, who loved him as one of their own.
Freddy is survived by his three devoted daughters: Georgia (Terry) Lambert of Lake City, FL; Windy Williams of Parker, CO; and Christine “Boo” (Patrick) McCray of Mayo, FL. He is also survived by his brother, Glenn Bennett, grandchildren Zack, Andrew (Amina), Brooke (Tim), Sydney (Chris), Taylor, Nick (Chev), Carrie, Jimmy (Jackson) and Cain (Taylor) and great-grandchildren include Brystal, Nolan, Camden, Vivienne, Dawson, Ezra, Bella, Henry, Merritt, Lilli, Quinn, and Carter, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Freddy’s life was a testament to family, kindness, and resilience. His warmth and wisdom touched everyone he knew, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy of love and cherished moments will continue to inspire and uplift those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Freddy (Little Freddy) Maxie Williams Jr.
