George William Martin
February 17, 1940 — November 16, 2019
George William Martin, age 79, of Live Oak, FL passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Lafayette Nursing & Rehab Center in Mayo, FL following a lengthy illness. He was born in Greenville, Florida living most of his life in Live Oak where he owned and operated a used car dealership for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. George loved racecar driving, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Clara Martin, Live Oak; one son, Eddie (Denise) Martin, Live Oak; two brothers, Gerald Martin and Charlie Lamar Martin both of Greenville, FL; three sisters, Joan Robertson, Greenville, FL; Cornevlia Pfaff and Annette Marcus both of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation was held, Sunday, November 17th from 2 to 4 PM at the funeral home.
Graveside services were held 11:00 AM, Monday, November 18, 2019 in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Madison, Florida.
