Hamp Williams, age 57, of Lake City, Florida passed away Wednesday morning, May 12, 2010 at Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, FL following a courageous battle with cancer. The Live Oak, FL native moved to Lake City FL twenty years ago. He served his country as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp. Hamp was a self-employed truck driver and was a member of the Tiger Lake Baptist Church. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and he was a huge Gator fan who in his spare time enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Ward Williams, Lake City, FL; two sons, Chad & Kim Williams, Lake City, FL; Josh & Laura Williams, Lake City, FL; his parents, Raymond & Vivian Williams, Live Oak, FL; one sister, Raiette (Julio) Avael of Key West, FL; five grandchildren, Delaney, Natalie, Michael, Ansley and Savannah all of Lake City, FL.
Visitation was held Friday May 14th from 5 to 7 PM at the Funeral Home.
Services were held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 15, 2010 in the Tiger Lake Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Owen, Rev. Bill Lawhon and Rev. Rick McCall officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Haven Hospice, 6037 Hwy 90, Lake City, FL 32055.
