Harry "Tom" Rooney, JR. April 23, 1923 July 17, 2010 Harry "Tom" Rooney, Jr., age 87, of Live Oak, FL passed away Saturday morning, July 17, 2010 in the V.A. Medical Center in Lake City, FL following a lengthy illness. The Pittsburg, PA native moved to Live Oak in 2005 from Kissimee, FL. Tom was a Veteran of World War II having served as a Private in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Makinson-Carson American Legion Post 10 in Kissimmee. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and attended Westwood Baptist Church where he was a member of the W.H. Gray Adult 4 Sunday School Class. He was predeceased by his wife, Muriel Rooney, his daughter, Karen Rooney and his dog "Bubba". He is survived by one son, Dale (Jane) Rooney, Live Oak, FL; one sister, Lorraine Thompson, Oregon; one granddaughter, Amber Rooney. Memorial services were held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 31st in our chapel with Mr. Steve Brannon officiating.
