Harvey Augustas Lutz, age 91, of Live Oak, FL passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at the Lake City Medical Center. He was born in Portland, Maine moving to Live Oak in 1989 from St. Petersburg, FL. He was a Private First Class in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII in the Southeast Pacific from 1945 to 1949. He worked as a Firefighter and EMT in St. Petersburg, FL for twenty years and South Pasadena, FL for fourteen years. He enjoyed baseball and was coach, manager, president and vice president of the Little League Baseball team in St. Petersburg. Harvey’s most treasured moments was spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Lutz; one son, Jon Lutz; two brothers, Marvin Lutz and Roland Lutz; two sisters, Joan Sparling and Jean Guest.
He is survived by two sons, Roger Lutz, Cross City, FL; David (Takako) Lutz, Switzerland; two daughters, Sally (Fred) Crafa, St. Petersburg, FL; Nancy Joan (Keith) Bangert, Live Oak; one daughter-in-law, Sheila Lutz, Clearwater, FL; two brothers, Robert Lutz St. Petersburg, FL and Harold Lutz, Lemoore, California; two sisters, Margaret Schubert, Marshall, Minnesota and Doris VanBetuw, Limington, Maine; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation was be held one hour prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Graveside services were held, 11:00 AM, Friday, September 6, 2019 in the Live Oak Cemetery.
