Iris "Snookie" Fletcher
December 13, 1927 — August 16, 2025
Iris “Snookie” Fletcher, age 97, of Live Oak, FL, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a native and lifelong resident of Live Oak and faithful member of the Pine Grove Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked as the chief operator for the Mid-Continent Telephone Company. Snookie loved gardening, bird watching and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Zedna Bailey; her husbands, Arthur Byrd and J. Rudolph Fletcher; brother, Buck Bailey; two sons-in-law, J.D. Ross and G.W. Croft and a great-great-great-granddaughter, Halleigh May Nendze.
She is survived by three daughters, Alice Ross, Bonnie Croft and Cathy (Charles) Smith; one son, Rudy (Angela) Fletcher all of Live Oak, FL; eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and thirty great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the friends of the Pine Grove community.
Celebration of life services will be held, 1:30 PM, Sunday, September 7, 2025, in the Pine Grove Methodist Church, 5300 CR 136-A, Live Oak, FL, with Rev. John Kerry officiating.
