Ivie Franklin Fowler , age 81, of Live Oak, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, FL following a brief illness. Ivie was born in Live Oak, Florida and remained committed to Suwannee County all his life.  He dedicated his life to sustaining growth of local business through his own insurance, auto and real estate businesses.  Ivie furthered his passion to the county he loved with three elected terms as elected county commissioner of district three and provided his mentorship to those who followed in the office after him.  Ivie described the opportunity to represent, and be trusted by the people in his community a true honor.  He was a true servant to God and country, his only departure from his home county in 1958-1960 when he served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He was predeceased by his parents, O.B. Fowler and Myrtle McClung, his wife, Jenny, but is lovingly remembered for his selflessness and unconditional love by his surviving family.  Two daughters, Donna (Rob) Lowrey, Ft. White, FL and Tanya Fowler, Orange Park, FL; one grandchild and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 15, 2021 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Shawn Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the services, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Dowling Park Building Fund.
