Jack Carmichael, age 83, of Live Oak, FL passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Shands UF in Gainesville, FL. He was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak and a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War and the Florida National Guard serving in Desert Storm. Jack worked as an Engineer for the Florida Department of Transportation and was a member of Clayland Baptist Church and Rocky Sink Lodge #88 F & AM. He enjoyed fishing, mostly for mullet and loved spending time on his farm. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Carmichael, Live Oak; two sons, Denton (JoAnn) Carmichael, Live Oak; David (Denise) Carmichael, Lake City; two daughters, LaRonna Carmichael, Day, FL; Laurette Carmichael, Live Oak; two brothers, Doyle Carmichael and Jerry Carmichael both of Live Oak; five sisters, Judy Carmichael, Live Oak; Lynda Gail Jackson, Alachua, FL; Nancy Allen, Jacksonville, FL; Peggy Buchanan, Day, FL and Bonita Williams, Macclenny, FL; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.
Funeral services were 11:00 AM, Friday, July 10, 2015 in the Clayland Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Lawhon officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
