Jack Rogers, age 92, of Live Oak, FL passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lake City, FL following a lengthy illness. He was born in Rainelle, West Virginia moving to Live Oak in 1980 from Delray Beach, FL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII as Private First Class from 1944 to 1946. He was a self-employed carpenter, loved to fish and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his son, Roderick Rogers in 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Rogers, Live Oak; one step-son, Mike (Tracy) Guillery, Live Oak; one daughter, Dawn (Randy) Trout, Ohio Hill, CA; one step-daughter, Debbie Williams, Live Oak; two grandchildren, two great-grandchild, four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held 1:00 PM, Monday, October 24, 2016 at Westwood Baptist Church with Chaplain Calvin Robinson, Jr. officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the church. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery with full military rites at the graveside.
