Jack Rogers

Jack Rogers, age 92, of Live Oak, FL passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lake City, FL following a lengthy illness. He was born in Rainelle, West Virginia moving to Live Oak in 1980 from Delray Beach, FL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII as Private First Class from 1944 to 1946. He was a self-employed carpenter, loved to fish and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his son, Roderick Rogers in 1994. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Rogers, Live Oak; one step-son, Mike (Tracy) Guillery, Live Oak; one daughter, Dawn (Randy) Trout, Ohio Hill, CA; one step-daughter, Debbie Williams, Live Oak; two grandchildren, two great-grandchild, four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held 1:00 PM, Monday, October 24, 2016 at Westwood Baptist Church with Chaplain Calvin Robinson, Jr. officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the church. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery with full military rites at the graveside. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lake City V.A. Medical Center, volunteer services for V.A. Serenity Place, 619 S. Marion Street, Lake City, FL 32025.
