James "Pete" Ellis Baxter, Jr.

James "Pete" Ellis Baxter, Jr., age 67, of Live Oak, FL passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville, FL following a brief illness. He was a native and life long resident of Suwannee County. Pete was a previous owner of the Amoco Service Station in downtown Live Oak and a very gifted mechanic. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Viet Nam Era. He was a big-time fisherman and lived for his grandchildren. He is survived by one son, Jimmy (Honorine) Baxter, Orlando, FL; one daughter, Kay (Tony) Selph, Virginia Beach, VA; two brother, Lester Baxter and Kenneth Dutton both of Live Oak; two grandchildren, Kelly Selph and Chy Selph both of Virginia Beach, VA. Visitation was held Wednesday, July 23rd from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services were held, 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the Orange Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Henry Smart officiating.
