James “Jim” Durbin, 78 of Live Oak, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Shands at UF in Gainesville, FL. The Louisville, Kentucky native moved to Live Oak from Atlanta, Ga twenty years ago, was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WWII. He was a retired freight lines truck driver, a member of the Moose Lodge # 624 of Lake City, FL. James especially loved to entertain his grandkids, great grandkids and great-greatgrandkids and he also enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and cheering for his favorites, the Earnhardt’s. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Laura “Liz” Durbin, Live Oak, FL; one son, Alan Durbin, Mandarin, FL; three daughters, Nancy Matson, Jacksonville, FL; Phyllis Gulden, Atlanta, Ga; Rhonda Durbin, McAlpin, FL; Jene Wagner, Live Oak, FL; one brother, Joe Durbin, Melbourne, FL; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10th at 2:00 pm in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tim Carver, officiating.
