James “Jamie” Ganote, age 63, of Live Oak, FL passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at Shands UF Health in Gainesville, FL following a brief illness. He was born in Louisville, KY moving to Live Oak ten years ago from St. Pete/Clearwater, FL. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during Vietnam War as a Military Policeman in Thailand. His life was music. He started playing the drums at the age of 12 and was a musician for over fifty years. He was preceded in death by his mother Willis Katherine Ganote.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Ganote, Live Oak; three daughters, Sarah Davidson, Jacksonville, FL; Chrystal O’Brien and Tammy Pierce-Ortiz both of Sanford, FL; his father and step-mother, Leonard Thomas and Elaine Ganote, LaGrange, KY; four brothers, Steven Ganote, Robert Wesley Ganote, Thomas Ganote and David Ganote; seven grandchildren.
A Celebration of his life will be held at Jamie’s home, 10040 95th Dr., Live Oak, 6:00 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2017, with Pastor John Dumas officiating.
