James Guthrie

James E. Guthrie, Jr., age 81, of Live Oak, FL passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. He was born in Cape Carteret, NC moving to Live Oak in 1997 from Zephyrhills, FL. He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant having served twenty-three years. James was a member of ASPCA, Humane Society, Air & Space, American Legion Post 0400, Song of Confederate Veterans, Arbor Day Foundation and the Buddhist Mediation Center in Kissimmee, FL He is survived by two sons, James M. Guthrie, VA; Davey Guthrie, GA; five daughters, Wacharin “Rin” Hogan, Baton Rouge, LA; Kanya “Lek” Sornsong, St. Petersburg, FL; Unchalee Nakajima, Australia; Ubonrat “Doon” Charoenpan, Leesburg, FL; Donna Guthrie, Morehead,NC; one brother, Jennifa Guthrie, Hebert, NC; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Visitation and viewing will be held Wednesday August 13th from 3 to 4 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held, 12:30 PM, Monday, August 18, 2014 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Wat Florida Dhammaram officiating.
