Jean Bass Edmisten

Jean Bass Edmisten, age 72, of Live Oak, FL passed away Wednesday evening, September 29, 2010, at her home following complications related to Alzheimer’s disease. Jean was born in Quitman, Ga and moved to Live Oak, FL in 1958. She retired from Alltel Communications after thirty-four and a half years of service. Jean enjoyed her church, working in her yard and spending time with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak.
She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin Edmisten, sister, Carolyn Rhodes and a brother, James C. (Jimmy) Bass.
Survivors include her daughter, Dana (Jimmy) Hill of Branford, FL; two brothers, Lamar Bass, Valdosta, GA and Bobby Bass, Quitman, GA; one sister, Dot O’Neal, Pinetta, FL; two grandchildren, Hunter Ray Hill and Hannah Renee Hill.
Visitation was held from 1:30 until service time at the church.
Funeral services were held, 2:30 PM, Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Herrington officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak cemetery.
The family asked in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2411 NW 41st St., Suite A, Gainesville, FL 32606.
