Jeffrey Lee Laffoon, age 55, of Sugar Hill, Georgia, died suddenly at his home on May 22, 2024. Mr. Laffoon was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on July 9, 1968, to parents Lee and Edna Murphy Laffoon.

He was predeceased by his father, Lee Laffoon, and grandparents, Avery and Gladys Murphy of Live Oak, Florida. He is survived by his mother, Edna Murphy Laffoon, of Live Oak; brother Leslie Laffoon (Belinda) of Live Oak; daughters Kelsey Laffoon of Social Circle, Georgia, and Marissa Laffoon, of Pendergrass, Georgia; niece Amber Laffoon of Live Oak, as well as a large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also is survived by his former wife of 26 years and mother of his children, Anne Ramey Laffoon, who continued to be an important part of his life.

Mr. Laffoon grew up in Live Oak and graduated from Suwannee High School. He learned to play the piano at a young age and was an extremely talented musician. He accepted Christ as a child and was involved in and served the churches he attended as the pianist or accompanist for the choir and congregational music. He also taught private music lessons and was requested to play at many weddings, funerals, and other special occasions.

Mr. Laffoon received his AA degree from Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia, and his bachelor’s degree from Armstrong College in Savannah, Georgia, now Armstrong Atlantic State University. He worked in health care administration during his career, including at AvMed and Health Plan Southeast in Gainesville, Florida. He also worked for Health Corporation of America for 18 years, in Gainesville, Florida, Walterboro, South Carolina, Augusta, Georgia, and Atlanta, Georgia, where he was a regional director.

Mr. Laffoon was an excellent chef and enjoyed cooking for family and friends, using his talents on the grill, smoker, or in the kitchen. He also loved working out at the gym and watching the Food Network, where he often learned ideas for new recipes and cooking techniques.

A committal service was held at 11 a.m. on May 30 at Harris Funeral Home, 932 Ohio Ave. North in Live Oak. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. on June 1 at Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, 4400 South Lee St. in Buford, Georgia.
