Jeffrey “Jeff” Serlick, age 70 of Live Oak, FL passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL following a short but aggressive bout with lung cancer. He was born in Philadelphia, PA; served briefly in the U.S. Air Force and lived in California for a while before settling in Florida in the 1970’s. Jeff and his wife moved to Live Oak in 1999 and they lived their dream of having a small farm with their horses and other animals roaming the pastures outside their windows. Jeff loved his community. He worked several years at the Farmers Coop, retired and then went back to Winn Dixie part time until recently. He volunteered with the 4H group and was always ready to help out his neighbors and had a very funky sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Monica Serlick, Live Oak, FL; one son, Eugene Serlick Mack (Lori), St. Mary’s , GA; two daughters, Jennifer (Scott) Oester, Monticello, FL; Bari (Adam Kosabutski) Silver, Asbury Park, NJ; one sister, Jane Klugman, Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Chase, Latayvian, Juliet and Sebastian.
According to Jeff’s wishes, he was cremated and a memorial service was held to honor and remember him at his home in Live Oak at 15106 104th Street on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 at 1:00 PM.
