Jeannette “Jenny” Fowler, age 69, of Live Oak, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, FL following a courageous battle with cancer. Jenny was born in her family home in Cross City, FL and grew up an active member of her church and community. Learning to play the piano at the age of eight, she shared her love of music with her church as a pianist and choir member before moving to attend Lake City Community College. Moving to Live Oak in 1972, she built a loving home for her growing family. Jenny demonstrated the perfect balance of church, community, family and career as a loving mother, exceptional manager and dedicated board member of women’s charities. A talented quilter and gardener, Jenny combined her hobbies with generosity always gifting the fruits of her labors. Her faith in all walks of life influenced and inspired all who knew her. In her peaceful passing on Thursday morning, she left us all with warm memories and the honor of calling her friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister.
She will be forever cherished by her husband, Ivie Fowler, Live Oak; her children, Slade Maynard, Live Oak; one daughter, Merry Jo Gallo, Greenfield, IN and step children, Tanya Fowler and Donna Lowery will forever embrace her infectious optimism and enlightenment. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, October 15, 2018 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Shawn Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:00 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Dowling Park building fund.
