September 20, 1935 April 21, 2009 Jerry R. Skipper, age 73, jumped on the wings of a honey bee and flew to the great bee hive in the sky Tuesday, April 21, 2009. God needed a master beekeeper to tend his heavenly hives. He surely got the best. The Tampa, FL native moved to Live Oak, FL in 1957 from Camp Lejeune. He served in the United States Marine Corp. Jerry along with his family owned and operated the Skipper Honey Company. He was a member of the Live Oak Elks Lodge #1165 and the American Beekeeping Association. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, boating and water skiing and was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Skipper, Live Oak, FL; two sons, Robert Skipper and Richard Skipper both of Live Oak, FL; two daughters, Carolyn Skipper and Elizabeth Skipper both of Live Oak, FL; one sister, Jeri Christoffersen, Henderson, Nevada; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, April 24th from 5 to 7 PM at Harris Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or to Haven Hospice, 6037 Hwy 90 West, Lake City,FL 32055.
