Jessie Imogene Austin

Jessie "Imogene" Austin Jessie "Imogene" Austin age 93, of Live Oak, Florida passed away early Saturday morning, July 7, 2012 at her home following a brief illness. The Palatka, FL native moved to Live Oak in 1962 from Crescent City, FL. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Suwannee County Hospital and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak. Imogene received her nursing degree from Santa Fe Junior College and worked for many years as a LPN at the Suwannee County Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband David “Dave” Austin in 2000. Survivors include one son, Dr. Terry (Ginger) Austin, Pine Mountain, GA; one daughter, Sheila (Sam) Pugh, Live Oak, FL; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 PM Sunday, July 8th at the funeral home. Funeral services were held 10:00 AM, Monday, July 9, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Reverends Phillip Herrington and Steve Sweitzer officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
