Jessie "Imogene" Austin Jessie "Imogene" Austin age 93, of Live Oak, Florida passed away early Saturday morning, July 7, 2012 at her home following a brief illness. The Palatka, FL native moved to Live Oak in 1962 from Crescent City, FL. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Suwannee County Hospital and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak. Imogene received her nursing degree from Santa Fe Junior College and worked for many years as a LPN at the Suwannee County Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband David “Dave” Austin in 2000. Survivors include one son, Dr. Terry (Ginger) Austin, Pine Mountain, GA; one daughter, Sheila (Sam) Pugh, Live Oak, FL; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 PM Sunday, July 8th at the funeral home. Funeral services were held 10:00 AM, Monday, July 9, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Reverends Phillip Herrington and Steve Sweitzer officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 6037 Hwy 90 W., Lake City, FL 32055 or First Baptist Disaster Relief Fund, 401 W. Howard St., Live Oak, FL 32064.
