Jewell Simmons

Jewell Simmons, age 74, of Branford, FL, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Shands Live Oak. She was born in Johnson City, TN. She and her family lived in West Palm Beach, FL for many years before moving to Branford in 2016. Jewell was retired after having been employed in the security department of the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company for over 24 years. She also spent over 40 years volunteering and coaching for the Special Olympics of Palm Beach County, Florida. She loved being with her family, knitting, crocheting and watching the deer and birds in her backyard in Branford. She will be missed by her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Roxie Estep, daughter, Rena Simmons and two sisters, Connie Hughes and Ann Klay. She is survived by her husband, Joe Simmons, Branford, FL; one son, Wayne Simmons, Branford, FL; one daughter, Tonya (Edward) Davie, Middleburg, FL; one brother, Ray Estep, Charleston, WV; one sister, Lena (Dale) Cowan, Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Elise Davie, Orange Park, FL and J.T. Davie, Middleburg, FL; future grandson-in-law, A.J. Wilson, Orange Park, FL; and great granddaughters, Roxy Davie, Orange Park, FL and Lillian Wilson, Orange Park, FL.
