Joe Corbett Sullivan

"Papa Joe" Sullivan, age 72, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away Monday, Nov. 19th, 2007 at his home in the Falmouth community of Suwannee County. Born in Hamilton County, Mr. Sullivan was the son of the late Joe D. and Laussie Johnson Sullivan of Hamilton County, Fl. He graduated from Jennings High School, Class of 1952. Was a U.S. Army veteran moving to Live Oak in 1962 from Jennings. He had retired from the U.S.Postal Service, enjoyed fishing and loved his dogs. But more than that, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Live Oak, Fl. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph D. & Laussie Johnson Sullivan; two brothers, Homer Sullivan and Teford Sullivan; and a sister, Marjorie Noriega. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Sullivan, Live Oak, Fl; one son, Kevin (Jana) Sullivan,Live Oak, Fl; two daughters, Alicia (Bo) Davis, Live Oak, Fl and Jennifer (Tim) Merola, Live Oak, Fl; one brother, Garrad (Maxine) Sullivan, Jennings, Fl; two sisters, Louise (Andy) Fox, Philadelphia, PA and Dot Leutner, Jennings, Fl; Eight Grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services were held 11:00AM Friday, Nov. 23rd in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby McCray, officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Harris Funeral Home, Inc., 932 North Ohio Ave., Live Oak, Fl, 32064, was in charge of all arrangements.
