John Peter Tynda

John Peter Tynda , age 58, of Lake City, FL, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at his home. He was a native of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil moving to Suwannee County in 2012 from Jacksonville, FL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served from 1980 to 1988. John worked as a stock clerk for Lowes and was a member of the St. Justin Martyr Orthodox Christian Church of Jacksonville, FL. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #57. He loved working in his yard and making things out of wood. His most treasured moments were spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Tynda, Lake City, FL; two sons, Paul Tynda and Nicholas (Ariel) Tynda all of Lake City, FL; one daughter, Sarah (Andrew) Nicholas, Lake City, FL; one sister, Olena (Ron) Basarab, Harrisburg, PA; one grandchild, Jocilyn Tynda.
Funeral services were held, 7:00 PM, Monday, January 13, 2020 in the St. Justin Martyr Orthodox Christian Church,12460 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, FL with Father Ted Pischaurk officiating.
Visitation was held, one hour prior to the services from 6 to 7 PM at the church.
Liturgy services were held, 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 14, 2020 also at the church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
