Juanita Lord Ward, age 87, of McAlpin, FL passed away Saturday morning, December 14, 2013 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL following a sudden illness. She was a native and life long resident of Suwannee County; a homemaker and member of the Luraville Baptist Church. Juanita was very active in the community and her church. She taught Sunday school and was a member of the Suwannee County Fair Board, Suwannee County Farm Bureau Board and a 4-H Leader. She dedicated her life to being a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She also loved doing for others. Above all else, what she valued most was the time she spent with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey Ward, and two sons Allan Ward and Bruce Ward.
She is survived by two sons, Lewis (Dorena) Ward, Houston, TX; Roger (Roxanne) Ward, Live Oak, FL; one brother, Russell Lord, Sanford, FL; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation was held Thursday, December 19th from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 20, 2013 in the Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Bankston, and Rev. Ron Russ officiating.
