Karen Renee Johnson Brown Bass, age 59, a lifetime resident of Suwannee County, FL, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2026, following a sudden illness. She was born on March 23, 1967 and was raised in the Philadelphia Church Community on the family cattle ranch and farm. Early in life she developed a passion for horses and found great pleasure in riding and showing horses. Karen was a lifelong member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She spent her early years surrounded by a very large loving extensive family, a loving churh family and a community of friends. Although, Karen has faced many struggles later in her life, she was a “born again” Christian and she is now free of any type of struggles that followed her in life, and all of her debt to this life have been paid.
Karen was predeceased by her parents, George “Truett” and Angalyn “Angie” Howard Johnson, her maternal Grandparents, H.M. and Jessie Howard, Her paternal Grandparents, Curtis “J.C.” and Loysell Johnson and her first husband, Tommy F. Brown, Jr.
She is survived by her five children, Stephanie Brown Bass, Tommy F. Brown, III, Andrew Bass, Nathan Bass and Rachel Bourdon. She was “Mimi” to three beautiful granddaughters that she loved very much, Erin, Raylee and Audrey. She is survived by one sister, Lola “Annette” Johnson and one brother, George Truett Johnson, Jr., one nephew and two nieces. Karen is also survived by two maternal Aunts, Nancy Martin and Elizabeth Roberts, as well as a very large extended family of cousins and many, many friends.
Please join her children and our family as we celebrate the love, as well as, so many wonderful and fond memories she leaves behind.
Memorial services will be held, Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Dillhyon officiating.
