Lamar Baker September 28, 1929 February 12, 2011 Lamar Baker age 81, of Live Oak, FL passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Plattsmouth, NE following a lengthy illness. He was a native and lived most of his life in Live Oak, FL. Lamar was a 1948 graduate of Suwannee High School, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having been honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class. He retired as a beverage distributor for Coca Cola. Lamar loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and was a member of the Eastland Baptist Church in Orlando, FL. Survivors include one son, Ken Baker, Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters, Jane Westbrook, Fort Meade, FL;Robyn Baker, Boston, MA: two brothers, Curtis Baker and Lance Baker both of Live Oak, FL; one sister, Rennie Bell Weaver, Orlando, FL; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation was held Friday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services were held 11:00 AM Saturday, Feb. 19th at the Clayland Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Lawhon officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
