Leroy Hurst, Jr.

Leroy Hurst, Jr. October 8, 1934 * May 1, 2012 Leroy Hurst, Jr., age 77 of Live Oak, FL, passed away Tuesday, May 1st, 2012 in Lake City Medical Center following a brief illness. He was a native and life long resident of Live Oak and a well known self employed farmer. Leroy served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was a member of the F.F.A. and held an American Farmer degree. He was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lavinia Hurst; one son, Leroy (Sue) Hurst, III; two daughters, Sherri (Bruce) Williamson; Cindy (James) Johnson all of Live Oak; one brother, Thomas (Inez) Hurst, Live Oak; four sisters, Myrtle Lee Kirkland and Faye Barrington both of Live Oak; Debbie DeLoach, Rydal, GA and Geneva Johnson, Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren. Visitation was held Thursday, May 3rd from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services were held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Westwood Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Deas officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Family Life Center, c/o Westwood Baptist Church, 920 Eleventh St., Live Oak, FL 32064.
