Lois Hart Lindsey, age 94, of Live Oak, FL passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park, FL. She was a native of McAlpin, FL living most of her life in Suwannee County. In 1954 she was the first lady hired by North Florida Telephone Company as an accountant. She was also the first bookkeeper for First Federal Savings Bank and helped set up the first Credit Union. Lois loved reading, knitting and crocheting and was of the Baptist faith. She was the daughter of James Lawson Hingson and Ethel Boatright. She was predeceased by her husband B.C. (Cyril) Hart, a son Warren Hart, and a daughter-in-law Jackie Hart. She is survived by one son, Barney (Lynn) Hart, Live Oak; one daughter, Brenda Merritt, St. Johns, FL; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a loving, caring, niece, Melvelyn Putnal, Perry, FL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M, Saturday, February 7, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Sweitzer officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery. For those wishing to do so, contributions may be made to Advent Christian Village, P.O. Box 4305, Dowling Park, FL 32064.
